The practice comes after sources said that the Heat were still pressing for a trade to acquire Butler.

After talks between the Timberwolves and Heat broke down over the weekend - because Miami felt Minnesota altered the deal, moving the goalposts again, although that may just be part of a lot of different, competing agendas in the front office - Minnesota reached out and tried to spark a deal with Houston again, reports Stefano Fusaro of ESPN.

So where do we stand in the Jimmy Butler trade saga seven days from opening night?

Butler was reported by many sources that he attended practice this morning, but not to play with the team, more so to meet up with his current teammates. These probably aren't the actions teams that have interest in him, either via trade or when he's a free agent next summer, want to see.

Butler arguably is a top 10 National Basketball Association player.
