Although both characters have had substantial parts in Sapkowski's books, gaming fans will also recognize Ciri and Yennefer from CD Projekt Red's gaming franchise. The trio subsequently traverse the volatile Continent together.

Netflix has revealed who will be joining Henry Cavill in the upcoming adaptation series of The Witcher, including who will be playing Ciri, the Princess of Cintra, and the enigmatic sorceress Yennefer.

Allan's credits include Into the Badlands and the upcoming War of the Worlds miniseries, while Chalotra previously worked on The ABC Murders and Wanderlust. Chalotra, a relatively new actress, now only has two acting credits in that of The ABC Murders and Wanderlust. Filling out the magical academy at Aretuza are Tissaia (Ripper Street's MyAnna Buring) and novice sorcerers Fringilla (Mr Selfridge's Mimi Ndiweni) and Sabrina (Therica Wilson-Read).

Cavill is a huge star, but he'll be surrounded by a lot of new faces in the cast.

Christensen: I’m in a bad situation at Chelsea
We have good results and we play super good football, which only makes it harder. Christensen joined Chelsea in 2012 at the age of 16 from Brondby.

In the THR interview, Hissrich had this to say about the incident: "Truthfully, the controversy about Ciri, my own politics or the fact that I'm a woman, to me, just interacting with the fans has helped an enormous amount, because they see I'm on their side". Period. End of story. She also said that despite casting such a well-known lead with Cavill, they didn't purposefully opt to cast lesser-known actors in supporting roles to balance this out. We met in early April and had a very general meeting.

She continued: "In terms of why people responded so strongly, I think the fans really have pictures of these characters in their minds and I don't blame them for that". That being said, what I really tried to steer away from is that the video games right now are the sole visual representation of these stories and we needed to create our own visual representation.

Remaining cast will be announced soon.
