"They knew the power of that place", he says as footage of young children walking across the forest floor, banging on tiny toy drums and wearing haunting animal masks, plays out on screen. After the family cat is killed, they bury it in the Pet Sematary and then very weird things start to happen.

Paramount has unveiled the first trailer for their new take on Stephen King's Pet Sematary, which was already adapted once before in 1989.

Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz play Louis and Rachel Creed, the mom and dad of a young family that's new to this country road. In addition to Clarke, Seimetz and Lithgow, the new version's cast includes Jeté Laurence and Hugo & Lucas Lavoie. "They feared it. Those woods belong to something else". She made a lasting impression on readers and audiences everywhere, and while she can't be spotted in this trailer, she will definitely appear in the Pet Sematary remake - and in a much better way. Paramount Pictures hopes to find a similar amount of financial success with another movie based on a Stephen King novel. But fans of his super creepy 1983 novel - and the "89 movie adaptation - will be happy to see that in King's world anyway the famous warning typically goes unheeded". The first trailer has now been released. King's novel is one of his darkest, scariest works, and it looks like the movie might be equally chilling. It's directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, who previously helmed the acclaimed 2014 indie horror Starry Eyes, and it hits theaters on April 5, 2019.
