'Austin Powers' actor Verne Troyer's cause of death revealed

Troyer's death was first announced on his Facebook account.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the coroner has ruled that Troyer died of "sequela of alcohol intoxication" or alcohol abuse.

LOS ANGELES-The Los Angeles County coroner says actor Verne Troyer, who was best known for his Austin Powers role of Mini-Me, died last April of suicide by alcohol intoxication.

Troyer had a potentially fatal level of alcohol in his system and was saying repeatedly that he wanted to die when he was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital on April 3, according to the coroner's report.

Troyer, one of the shortest men in the world due to achondroplasia dwarfism, had been to rehab several times for a drinking problem.

A statement released by Troyer's family following his death said that Troyer had been battling a "time of adversity", and had recently been baptized.
