BLACK WIDOW Earns $15 Million Payday for SCARLETT JOHANSSON

A new story from The Hollywood Reporter, Scarlett Johansson has earned a $15 million payday to star in her own Black Widow movie. Regardless, this is the closest thing we have to go on, and THR had multiple sources confirm the figure, and if Marvel is adamant that they'd never actually reveal their paychecks, it's not like you could expect them to confirm these numbers. More specifically, you're finally reportedly set to make as much as Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth did playing Captain America and Thor in this year's Avengers: Infinity War (as a side note, how in the hell did Evans land that salary, given how little screen time he actually had?).

That's perhaps to be expected, considering Johansson was named the highest-paid actress of 2018, earning an estimated $40.5 million between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018. However, equal pay for female stars remains an issue in Hollywood, and $15 million is significantly less than the $25 million salary cited in early, and clearly erroneous reports. We can safely assume that two of those will be more Captain Marvel movies, giving the character a trilogy like Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, but that still leaves three unknown pictures on the contract. Johansson herself only got a low seven figures for The Avengers in 2012, which netted Downey $50 million. Chadwick Boseman was reportedly paid $2 million for his role in the first Black Panther, although he will get a significant pay increase from here on out. An argument can be made that they carried stand alone movies and she was a supporting character, but a counter-argument is simply that they should have given her a stand-alone film ages ago. The only female founding member of the Avengers in the MCU took home $40 million in the past year, and it looks like she'll keep piling on the big bucks.
