Former first lady Laura Bush said the former Florida governor and failed presidential candidate didn't make the cut for the small-scale, and short notice, October 7 nuptials - in which her eldest daughter with former President George W. Bush married actor Craig Coyne. "But, of course, the older you get, you lose people that you love".

The couple, who became engaged in August in the same spot where Bush's grandparents had become engaged almost 75 years earlier, opted not to have a lengthy wedding planning period, already knowing that they wanted to get married in their "happy place" in Maine.

The 36-year-old bride chose the family home so her 94-year-old grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush, could be there.

According to Barbara, she and her fiance spent the summer with George H.W.in ME following his wife's death.

Just weeks after the former First Lady's death, Bush's grandfather was admitted to Southern Maine Health Care where he was treated for "low blood pressure and fatigue." "Totally with it", the Global Health Corps CEO said, but added, "He is, of course, 94 years old and misses my grandmother".

Soyuz crew reportedly alive after emergency landing
Russian and US space officials said that the crew is heading for an emergency landing in Kazakhstan at an unspecified time. NASA said search and rescue crews were en route to the projected landing site, expecting to arrive in about 90 minutes.

"It was just our family and Craig's family".

"So during the entire ceremony she walked around with the ring box", Laura Bush said. While Bush lived in NY and Coyne resided in Los Angeles at the time, the two officially became a couple after New Year's Eve.

"And so we had a wedding outside, looking at the ocean".

Her twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, told NBC's "Today" show on Monday Barbara wore something borrowed - a bracelet her grandfather had given to his wife on their 70th wedding anniversary. "But also, just family in a place that means family love, and it was just lovely".

She "was very proud of being a ring bearer. And we're thrilled to welcome Craig Coyne to our family".
