#MeToo India: FIR filed against Nana Patekar, three others

Actor Tanushree Dutta on Wednesday visited the Oshiwara police station to record her statement in connection with her allegations of sexual harassment against actor Nana Patekar.

The MSWC has issued notices to Nana Patekar, director Rakesh Sarang and choreographer Ganesh Acharya, among others, directing them to file a reply within 10 days.

Dutta visited the police station days after she submitted a written complaint, asking that a case of molestation and sexual harassment be filed against the alleged accused along with workers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, who attacked her auto while she was exiting the studio.

Earlier, when he was asked to comment on Tanushree Dutta's matter, the actor had said, "Neither am I Tanushree, nor am I Nana Patekar, so how can I comment on this?"

Tanushree Dutta, whose complaint against Nana Patekar set off the #MeToo movement in India, at a police station in Mumbai. "However, we requested them to write it in English so that what happened 10 years ago would not happen again", Nitin Satpute said.

Tanushree has accused Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets of Horn "Ok" Pleassss in 2008.

She revealed how before shooting the song, she had clearly mentioned that she will not enact or perform any lewd, vulgar or uncomfortable steps. The actor has sent a legal notice to Ms Dutta and also demanded a written apology.

Dutta complained the same to the authorities, but, new steps were introduced by Acharya, which were intimate and included Patekar touching her inappropriately, she alleged. The complaint submitted also mentions how Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers attacked her vehicle and vandalized it. She was even threatened by some goons when the shooting was stalled for hours as she refused to come of her vanity van. Dutta stated that she had also lodged a complaint with Cine And TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) in March 2008.

Patekar has dismissed the allegations against him.
