But if didn't balk at the Galaxy Note 9, then the $899 price tag for the 128 GB model, $1,099 for 512 GB, probably shouldn't shock you either. The phone, which was first unveiled at Computex in June, will now be available for pre-booking in the U.S. from 18th October. It comes with a specially speed binned Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM, UFS 2.1 storage, and a 6-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 90Hz refresh rate and 1ms pixel response time.

The phone also sports Asus' vapor-chamber cooling system, and a detachable AeroActive Cooler, which connects via a USB-C port on the phone's side (yes, the phone has another USB-C port, alongside a headphone jack, on the bottom).

It should be expected by now that the ASUS ROG Phone and friends won't come cheap. Accessories will be available starting this quarter as well. A convenient mobile and desktop switch allows users to seamlessly transition from their phone to their desktop or gaming laptop, without having to adjust their current setup. The TwinView Dock adds a second screen to the phone, and that will cost $400. You'll also be able to get a $59.99 protective case as well as a $89.99 controller with dual analog joysticks and a bunch of additional buttons and triggers. The Gamevice Controller can be purchased separately, at $89.99 United States dollars, and packs dual analog joysticks, left and right fire triggers and bumpers, a D-pad, along with A, B, X, Y and L3, R3 buttons.

Asus may be best known for its gaming-oriented PC hardware and peripherals, but the company - much like Razer - announced its decision to branch out into the realm of smartphones at Computex 2018.

The ROG Phone Case is created to provide premium protection for the ROG Phone, keeping it safe from everyday scratches, knocks and bumps.

Meanwhile, the ASUS Professional Dock will allow you to connect the ROG Phone to a big screen TV or monitor, with an onboard Gigabit Ethernet port.
