John Rambo is at it again. The film series hasn't maintained even a semblance of consistency in its titles - the 1985 sequel was called Rambo: First Blood Part II, the three-quel was titled Rambo III, and the fourth film was just Rambo - so the fact that Rambo 5 has a legitimate name that offers symmetry to the first installment indicates that an impactful end is nigh for the grizzled Vietnam vet.

Shortly after Sylvester Stallone confirmed that Rambo 5 had started filming in Bulgaria, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed the official title of the film: Rambo: Last Blood.

Get The Gringo director Adrian Grunberg is at the helm of Last Blood.

Rambo: Last Blood is expected to hit theatres sometime next year and could see us saying goodbye to one of the most iconic action heroes of our times.

Yvette Monreal is the latest Rambo 5 cast member, reports THR. Monreal is set to play the role of Vega's younger sister Gabrielle, who unfortunately got kidnapped during her sister's risky news coverage on Mexican drug cartels. Monreal has been seen on TV runs on The Fosters, Faking It, Matador, as well as recent films such as Monsoon, Once Upon a Superhero and Lowriders.

Manchester United's Nemanja Matic pulls out of Serbia squad with injury
He has since pulled out, though, and returned to his club's training complex for treatment on an unspecified injury. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will travel to Montenegro during the worldwide break, it has been revealed.

As for Vega, THR writes that she'll play Carmen Delgado, a reporter covering the Mexican drug trade. Amongst several movies and films in her native country, the Spanish siren, Vega, is known to American audiences for her co-starring role in the 2004 Adam Sandler comedy, Spanglish, 2014 Jeremy Renner crime drama Kill the Messenger and a TV run on Netflix's The OA.

According to Deadline, the story of Rambo 5 is.

"When the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, Rambo, who has been working on a ranch, crosses the U.S". Rambo 5: Last Blood was previously subtitled New Blood when it was planned as a reboot starring a younger actor in 2016, but those plans were since scrapped.

Incidentally, the Rambo franchise wasn't always a pure action franchise, as First Blood contained a fair amount of drama to it as well and with Stallone's recent work on Creed which saw his other famous character Rocky Balboa suffering through a bout of Cancer that nearly killed him, it shouldn't be surprising if Stallone - who co-wrote this movie with Matt Cirulnick - taking this seemingly last Rambo movie in the same direction.

Meanwhile, Stallone has shared some more set photos of his new cowboy Rambo look.
