After suffering from apparent mental breakdown, the singer, who underwent kidney transplant past year, is presently being treated at a mental facility.

Selena Gomez is receiving treatment at a mental health facility after suffering what TMZ describes as a "emotional breakdown". We're told she was despondent and emotional over an alarmingly low white blood cell count in the wake of her kidney transplant.

Multiple sources tell TMZ, the 26-year-old singer was at her Studio City, CA home the last week of September when the first emergency hit.

Members of her family then drove her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, before being released several days later.

The brunette beauty is believed to now be at a psychiatric facility on the East Coast and is receiving dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), which she has undergone before and which treats a variety of mental health disorders. Sources close to the website also revealed that the singer wished to leave after she was admitted. She insisted on leaving the hospital, but when doctors refused she had "a meltdown", "freaked out", and "tried ripping the IVs out of her arm".
