Aladdin is a live-action adaptation of the1992 Disney animated film. (Hence, the "diamond in the rough" line in the teaser.) The location ends up being where Aladdin finds the Genie's lamp, something that is set up by the teaser's final moment. It's more of a mood piece, introducing viewers to the.whole new world of the long-awaited revival.

The marketing team probably didn't mean to give everyone a Last Crusade vibe with the first Aladdin poster, but it's too late now. But now, finally, we have the first teaser trailer.

The Grammy-Award winning rapper and Academy-Award nominated actor shared the poster on social media with the caption, "LEMME OUT!"

The new teaser for the film isn't the only bit of news Disney fans got this week.

A third of under-25s now drink no alcohol
Furthermore, more young people were also engaging in weekly abstinence compared to previous generations (from 35% to 50%). Researchers studied data on nearly 10,000 youngsters, collected via the annual Health Survey for England .

As nearly everyone knows, Genie has been trapped inside the lamp for thousands of years, but once the street-rat-turned-phony-prince Aladdin rubs its side, Genie is finally free. Just underneath, there's a tagline that reads, "Choose wisely".

The film is scheduled for release 24 May 2019.

The titular character will be played by Mena Massoud, the genie by Will Smith, Princess Jasmine by Naomi Scott of Power Rangers fame and Jafar by Marwan Kenzari. People love Aladdin, and while I'm sure there will be some additions and some alterations, overall the new movie will likely bear a strong resemblance to the animated original.
