'Joker' extras got locked in subway, had to pee on the tracks

Official images of Phoenix in costume have been released - but several sneaky set pics and videos have also leaked. SPOILER ALERT: it turns out The Joker is one of those dudes who thinks it's totally rebellious to smoke inside the subway station. Henchman also in clown make up run riot, as innocent bystanders flee the subway trains.

This then resulted in a number of extras resorting to peeing on the tracks by taking advantage of the gap between cars on the train.

According to a report from TMZ, extras on the set of the new Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix were trapped on subway cars in Brooklyn for approximately three hours this past weekend.

As per TMZ, the extras had been refused to take a break after two hours of filming and were locked inside subway cars, which propelled them to urinate on the subway tracks through the gaps between the cars. The studio told Variety it had no further comment on Wednesday.

SAG will continue to monitor the set, while Warner Bros. says it's investigating the matter.

It is directed by Todd Phillips - of The Hangover fame - and Martin Scorsese was initially involved as producer, though he later dropped out. Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham also star.
