After Murray's injury, White was the starting point guard in the Spurs' loss to Atlanta on Wednesday, when he had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 29 minutes.

Derrick White will be out six to eight weeks after tearing a ligament in his right heel.

The original prognosis seemed dark, but Popovich has updated his comments saying White may only miss two-to-four weeks according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News. Dejounte Murray tore his right ACL on Sunday in a preseason loss to the Houston Rockets and is out for the season. First it was Lonnie Walker IV, who tore meniscus in his right knee in a win over Detroit on October 5, then Murray and now White. Murray was second-team NBA All-Defense last season and the Spurs were high on the improvements to his offensive game, they thought he was ready to make a leap.

White was expected to take the starting point guard job with Murray sidelined for the season.

The hail smashed another window and Fiona tried to cover her grandmother as well, who was also being pelted with the large stones. Teresa Francis told the site that her orchard is all but gone, an estimated $2 million loss. "It knocks you down", she said.

His scoring ability is the most pronounced part of his game, but he's learning how to be a more impactful defensive player with the Spurs.

"There's so much junk in the world, you're better off if you look at the cup as half full", Popovich said. "Now it's going the other way".

White is a bigger guard at 6-foot-5 and has a scoring mentality that is flawless for him since he can score from anywhere on the floor.

This is also the third major injury to guard rotation. Nick Johnson, who played for the G League's Austin Spurs and was MVP of the G League Finals, is the only other healthy point guard on the team's training camp roster. Mills is the only player who started any games at the point last season and remains on the San Antonio roster as the new season begins.
