The insane fan broke through the security in Hyderabad as the West Indies batted to open up the second Test, and managed to get a selfie with the Indian skipper before attempting to go one step further. India has posted 80 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of one wicket at lunch.

The West Indies was in peril again at 113/5 and 182/6, but Chase and captain Jason Holder rescued them with a 104-run stand.

FPJ's dream XI prediction: Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Prithvi Shaw, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, Devendra Bishoo, Shai Hope, Roston Chase, Shannon Gabriel, Shane Dowrich and R Ashwin.

Israel halts fuel delivery to coastal enclave
A statement said troops "spotted a number of assailants who climbed the security fence in the southern Gaza Strip". Israel accuses the enclave's rulers Hamas of leading the protests and using them as a cover for attacks.

The onus was on Kraigg Brathwaite and Kieran Powell to give the tourists a strong start after Holder unsurprisingly elected to bat on a track that looked full of runs. He was ably supported by fellow teammate and spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

Chase, who hit a Test-best 137 not out against India in Jamaica in 2016, stopped the rot, firstly with Dowrich and then, when the wicketkeeper-batsman was out lbw on review to Umesh, with Holder. Shardul Thakur became India's 294th Test cricketer this morning but he limped off the field with a groin injury after bowling only 10 deliveries.

Giving out further information, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the 26-year-old has gone for scans and would not return to the field on Friday.
