Top seed Karolina Pliskova bulldozed her way into the Tianjin Open quarter-finals by beating Slovenian Polona Hercog 6-1 6-2 on Wednesday as the Czech power-hitter eyes a place at the WTA Finals later this month. "At the moment I'm focused on each match".

"I was feeling good, I was serving pretty well".

The victory kept the Belarussian's hopes of a spot at the WTA Finals in Singapore alive, although she would have to lift the trophy this week to have a chance.

Fourth seed Sabalenka, beaten by Maria Sharapova in the Tianjin final past year, will come up against Timea Bacsinszky or Misaki Doi in the quarter-finals after breaking five times to cruise through.

Boston Dynamics Atlas Robot Seen Doing Parkour Freakishly Well
Though the robot isn't quite at the level of human activities, Boston Dynamics has made great strides over the last couple years. Boston Dynamics released a video Thursday of its bipedal Atlas robot, which is created to look like a humanoid.

The fourth-seeded Sabalenka, who lost to Maria Sharapova in the final previous year, won the Wuhan Open title two weeks ago. Nothing else matters for the Belarusian who stormed through the first five games for the loss of just three points.

In the second set, as she admitted, after losing her serve she became more nervous and played deeper but less aggressive. "I'm saying to myself, it doesn't matter; you're 20 years old, you will have a lot of chances to go there".

Sixth seed Petra Martic recovered from losing the first set to comeback and progress to the last eight with a 1-6, 6-0, 6-1 victory over China's Fangzhou Liu.
