Koh was quoted as saying, "If the user experience is not up to my standard, I don't want to deliver those kind of products". This week, during the unveiling of their 18-camera phone, the Galaxy A9,000-mid-ranger, Samsung's DJ Koh talked about foldable things again.

When first Galaxy Note was unveiled, Koh says that the rivals considered the handset to be a useless product, especially with its enormous screen.

Speaking on the occasion, Samsung Electronics IT & Mobile Communications Division President and CEO DJ Koh said, "As a global leader in smartphone innovation, we understand the demand for meaningful innovation in a fast-paced world driven by visual communication".

Storm Callum: More rain set to bring further disruption
Met Éireann issued Status Orange weather warnings for 13 counties, with high winds coinciding with high tides yesterday evening. Rainfall totals could reach as high as 150mm over the Brecon Beacons, almost as high as the monthly average of 170mm for Wales.

In fact, he claims that the Galaxy F will be of utmost practicality with the ability to be used as a tablet and then folded into a phone. He said that a gimmicky product disappears from the market within 6-8 months, which is something Samsung is trying to avoid. It will offer multitasking features and productivity tools that are specific to tablets.

LG and Huawei are on Samsung's heels, Lenovo has been demonstrating its bendable smartphone concept for years, and even Apple filed a patent two years ago for "Electronic Devices With Flexible Displays". Hopeful about the prospects of the handset, Koh said, "Possibly when we start selling the foldable phone, it may be a niche market, but definitely, it will expand". In July, The Wall Street Journal reported that Samsung's foldable phone will feature a 7-inch flexible display and a secondary display bar.

Koh had confirmed that Samsung's upcoming device will be launched in 2018 and could debut in November at Samsung's Developer Conference, the report added.
