Amazon has begun rolling out Whisper Mode for its Alexa digital assistant, The Verge reports.

Whisper Mode does pretty much what it says on the tin.

Once the feature is activated, using it is simple: speak a command to Alexa quietly and the assistant will follow your lead, responding in a low whisper.

Whisper Mode could prove particularly useful for parents anxious about waking up their children or simply those looking to keep the noise down in the morning or evening for various reasons.

Apple iPad and MacBook announcement date
In March, the company announced new education software and an update to the entry-level iPad at a Chicago-area high school. We'll have to wait and see what Apple has in store but it may not be the only new product revealed at the event.

As you can imagine, it wasn't easy to get the AI to intuitively react to advanced conversational cues like whispering, but ultimately, Amazon appears to have pulled it all off. And that's going to be really useful when you don't want to disrupt anyone, like when your kid is sleeping. Instead, Whisper Mode is only available in the United States and it's only compatible with US English for now.

Amazon is expanding the ways you can interact with Alexa yet again.

Open up the Alexa app on your phone and navigate to Settings Alexa Account Alexa Voice Responses Whispered Responses. TechCrunch also notes that you can turn on Whisper Mode by saying - what else? There's no word regarding when Whisper Mode might launch to global markets.
