Netflix has announced that it has renewed its Disenchantment animated comedy series for a second season.

Disenchantment, which hails from Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening, debuted in August with its first 10 episodes - aka the first half of Season 1.

"We're excited to continue this epic journey with Netflix. Stay tuned for more cranked-up suspense, infuriating plot twists, and beloved characters getting knocked off", Groening said in a statement.

DISENCHANTMENT centers on the dysfunctional Princess Bean (Abbi Jacobson), who's accompanied by the demon Luci (Eric André) and the dwarf Elfo (Nat Faxon) through a magical realm known as Dreamland.

Well, fans of Disenchantment can feel this way, and then some.

Other members of the cast include John DiMaggio, Billy West, Rich Fulcher, Matt Berry, Noel Fielding, Sharon Horgan and Lucy Montgomery. Where The Simspons and Futurama are nearly entirely episodic comedies, the Netflix format allowed Groening and his writing team to give Disenchamnet a serialized story arc that will continue into future seasons.

Season 2 of Disenchantment is coming to Netflix in 2019. TV Guide's Tim Surette called it uneven at first but much better as it goes along thanks to the world-building efforts Groening's know for, which bodes well for future seasons.
