According to Wallace Matthews, who spoke with an Major League Baseball insider, it remains possible the Yankees may look to move outfielder Giancarlo Stanton in order to make room for free agent outfielder Bryce Harper. According to reports, the Nats' offer is now off the table, but the team is still open to a deal.

Harper has expressed a desire to remain with the Washington Nationals but they could face a challenge if other clubs are motivated to spend lavishly.

"We took advantage of our exclusivity late in the season [to negotiate with Harper]", Rizzo told the Post. "We will likely get back to that again".

GOP’s DeSantis defeats Gillum in Florida governor’s race
Republican Ron DeSantis will defeat Democrat Andrew Gillum in the battle to be Florida's next governor, Fox News projects. DeSantis , who has described himself as a " Teddy Roosevelt-Republican", is outspoken on environmental concerns.

Harper, who turned 26 last month, is expected to receive the largest contract among the 164 free agents.

Harper is a 6-time All-Star with 184 home runs, 521 RBI and a.900 OPS in his career.

"He's shown the type of player he is and now he's a grizzled veteran", Rizzo said. Nobody knows what this offseason holds, " he said. As the hot stove season begins, the 66-year-old founder, owner and president of the Boras Corporation of Newport Beach, California, stands ready as always to stoke a raging fire and rake in gobs of cash for a stable of high-profile free-agent clients. Harper, however, rejected the proposal, the report said.
