Passengers at Heathrow airport have been warned a "technical issue" affecting lighting on the runways could affect their journeys.

Flights have since been landing at the airport this morning.

"Because Heathrow operates at almost 100 percent capacity, there is no space in the schedule to accommodate a number of delayed flights and as a result some services may need to be cancelled and passengers booked onto alternative flights".
