"The president is a f-- embarrassment", Legend tweeted.

During the pair's heated exchange, Acosta asked Trump about the caravan of Central American migrants who are making their way toward the US border and challenged him about whether the caravan really was an "invasion", as Trump had previously stated.

Mr Trump replied: "I consider it an invasion".

"To say that, what you said, is so insulting to me", he said.

"I want them to come into the country but they have to come in through a process". "In my case, I'm a person running for office". And we need the people. "You are a very rude. person. the way you treat Sarah Huckabee is".

Mr Acosta pointed out the migrant caravan was "hundreds of miles" away from the United States border. "I think I'm just covering a story, honestly", Acosta said in a 2017 interview with The Washington Post about his reporting style.

Trump immediately interrupted Acosta as the journalist began to ask his question. "They weren't actors", the president said.

"Now we have a much easier path because the Democrats will come to us with a plan for infrastructure, a plan for health care, a plan for whatever they're looking at and we'll negotiate", said Trump.

So, what actually happened? This unprecedented decision is a threat to our democracy and the country deserves better. "You shouldn´t be working for CNN", he said.

Acosta asked the president about his use of the word "invasion", which he said was "mischaracterizing" a group of migrants that remain hundreds of miles away. Another reporter also asked if Trump was a racist because of support from white nationalists.

Trump talked about his supposed popularity with black Americans and said he's more interested in advancing America's interests than having a globalist point of view.

Trump mocked Republicans who avoided campaigning with him before congressional elections and who were not elected during their races, referencing a list of candidates by name. "You should not be working for CNN".

As WND reported earlier Wednesday, the conflict between the establishment media and the president reached new heights with Acosta trying to "challenge" and bully the president, to which Trump responded by calling the reporter "rude". The next questioner, NBC reporter Peter Alexander, defended his CNN colleague as a diligent reporter.

'When you report fake news, which CNN does a lot, you are the enemy of the people, ' he told him.

The White House on Wednesday revoked the press pass issued to CNN correspondent Jim Acosta "until further notice".
