(SPOT.ph) More and more Filipino titles have been added to Netflix's slate recently.

Altered Carbon is available to stream on Netflix now.

A series that will pop up on Netflix, as Deadline reports that the streaming platform is pushing forward with even more original anime productions. There are no release dates as of yet for the new animes but here is everything we know right now about them. "Altered Carbon" is written by Dai Sato ("Cowboy Bebop", "Samurai Champloo") and Tsukasa Kondo and produced at animation studio Anima. Which is fine! Because while Pacific Rim may not be able to find an audience on the big screen, it's possibly far better suited to taking a page from one of its biggest inspirations to create an anime series instead.

That's not the only familiar project getting a new anime project from Netflix - the streaming service is forging ahead with an animated feature film in the universe of Altered Carbon, the body-hopping cyberpunk show that began in live-action form earlier in 2018.

With just over $290 million earned worldwide from a $150 million budget, Pacific Rim's film aspirations are about as deceased as the remains of the Crimson Typhoon crew.

It also feeds the kind of anti-media controversy Trump loves to generate, and which benefits him politically. Mr Trump responded by saying "I think you should let me run the country, and you run CNN ".

Pacific Rim will expand upon Pacific Rim and Pacific Rim: Uprising, and focus on two siblings who pilot an abandoned Jaeger in an attempt to find their missing parents across a hostile, Kaiju-peppered landscape. Koigi "Last Exile" Chigira directs, with animation duties being handled by Hellsing studio Gonzo.

Yasuke: Based on the historical samurai of African origin who fough with Oda Nobunaga, the series follows a retired ronin (Stanfield) in a war-torn Japan of "mechs and magic", who is charged with the task of transporting a mysterious child targeted by dark forces.

LeSean Thomas (Children of Ether, Cannon Busters, The Boondocks) is credited as creator, director, and executive producer for Yasuke, and Flying Lotus is composing the music and serving as executive producer.

Set in Manila, local mythological creatures hide among humans as Protagonist Alexandra Trese braves a criminal underworld rife with evil supernatural beings.

Netflix will have plenty of content to offer from or in-the-style-of Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and South Korea, and as a Filipino-American myself, it's cool to see a project called Trese in the mix, which centers on Filipino folklore and is based off a Filipino graphic novel. Production will be undertaken by Shanty Harmayn and Tanya Yuson at BASE Entertainment. Jay Oliva is executive producer. The studio is based in Jakarta and Singapore.
