Michelle also revealed that she and former President Barack Obama "had to do IVF" to conceive their daughters Sasha and Malia, now 17 and 20, explaining that, because of her age at the time, she was anxious about being able to get pregnant naturally.

Admitting she felt "lost and alone" after the tragedy, she told Good Morning America she thought she'd "failed because I didn't know how common miscarriages were because we don't talk about them".

Malia, whose younger sister Sasha is now 17, was born in July 1998, which means that Michelle's miscarriage likely happened in 1997, not long before she conceived her eldest child.

The announcement comes ahead of Tuesday's release of Obama's memoir Becoming, in which she details everything from her Chicago childhood, studying at Princeton and Harvard to becoming the country's first Black first lady.

Obama's memoir also revealed her feelings about the current president, whom she and her husband have been careful not to directly criticize since leaving the White House. "I know too many young couples who struggle and think that somehow there's something wrong with them".

"As soon as I allowed myself to feel anything for Barack", she writes, "the feelings came rushing - a toppling blast of lust, gratitude, fulfilment, wonder". The full interview airs 9pm Sunday. Along with calling out President Donald Trump, the former FLOTUS also got real about her journey to becoming a mom.

There were some things we did not know about our former first lady.

Chris Sutton: 'Scandalous' Sergio Ramos deserves lengthy ban for 'thuggery'
Ramos also collided with Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius which left the German goalkeeper with a concussion. He throws his arm and he knows exactly what he's doing in this situation.

Obama does not mince words in her upcoming book about the current administration, describing her shock when she learned Donald Trump would be her husband's successor.

"The whole [birther] thing was insane and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed. But it was also risky, deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks", she wrote, per The Post.

"What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? And for this, I'd never forgive him". She accused Trump of "stalk [ing]" Clinton during an election debate by following her around the stage, standing near her and "trying to diminish her presence".

And when Trump was elected president, she says she was surprised that so many women would choose a "misogynist" over "an exceptionally qualified female candidate".

Mr Trump suggested Mr Obama was not born in the USA, but overseas, and so disqualifying him from the office of president.

On the infamous leaked Access Hollywood tape, where Trump was heard boasting about how he liked to 'Grab (women) by the pussy, ' Mrs Obama said that her 'body buzzed with fury after hearing (it)'.

"I've never been a fan of politics, and my experience over the last 10 years has done little to change that".
