Now, after losing a battle for the No. 1 quarterback spot in training camp, there was some hope that he would finally get an opportunity to start for Florida on Saturday when the Gators host SC.

Coach Dan Mullen was asked Wednesday whether it'll be a game-time decision whether Kyle Trask starts in place of Feleipe Franks, who was benched in last week's loss to Missouri.

While coach Dan Mullen hadn't definitively addressed the questions as to who the starter will be when the Gators take on SC on Saturday, Wednesday's injury to Trask might have provided the answer.

Franks was 9-of-22 with two interceptions before giving way to Trask with about five minutes left in the third quarter. "I haven't done that all year, so I don't plan on sharing that strategy just yet".

It's a handsome atmosphere but I've told the players that they have to enjoy this game and give everything. But we go there and play with clear heads and know what is coming in the stadium.

24/7 Sports, which was first to report the news, said the injury was to a "lower-body extremity".

Mullen said the quarterbacks' preparation hasn't change much, either.

Mullen said the three quarterbacks are having a good week. "Understanding the different checks we have in. You're still going to run your offense, but how it applies to that defense".
