Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince has revealed that Anthony Martial could become better than Chelsea forward Eden Hazard if he continues on the right track.

"I never gave up my feelings that this was the right way for him, even if he had to go through hard moments".

The Frenchman fell out of favour with Mourinho in the second half of last season and missed making the World Cup squad that eventually won France the tournament in the summer.

And speaking on Martial's U-turn at the club, Mourinho has revealed he set a hard path for his player in order for him to realise his "phenomenal talent". "It also shows we've got a big group of players who can come into the squad".

However, the 22-year-old France hopeful bounced back in form strongly into this season, scoring five league goals for his club so far.

France coach, Didier Deschamps, acknowledged Martial's ability to overcome his lack of consistency to rekindle his best form in recent times.

He says that although players think they're staying dormant but they're "hoping now is the time to work and bring players back in".

The 22-year-old star has found back of the net on five occasions in his last six appearances for Red Devils, with the France worldwide bouncing back from a hard start to the campaign to become more a starter in Jose Mourinho's first eleven.

'Anthony has been with the national team for a while now. "He's experienced both good and bad times, which is also the case for his club", he told a news conference on Thursday. I'm talking about commitment and efficiency in front of goal.

"That can be seen on the pitch, with the importance he's taken on in recent weeks in Manchester, in the head of Jose Mourinho, and what he's doing on the pitch".

"Obviously I would like him to stay", United manager Jose Mourinho said on Friday.

France will visit the Netherlands in their final UEFA Nations League group match on November 16.
