Martinez is first player to receive two Silver Slugger Awards in one season. Altuve joins Craig Biggio as the only players in franchise history to win five Silver Slugger Awards. It was Baez's first such award, and he's the second Cubs second baseman to win a Silver Slugger, joining Ryne Sandberg (1984-'85, 1988-'92).

His 1.088 OPS is the highest in the American League in 20076.

The Boston Red Sox featured one of the most potent lineups in all of baseball this past season, and two of their stars were recognized Thursday for their efforts at the plate in 2018.

Sarkar Gets Dethroned By Thugs Of Hindostan At The Box Office?
The keenly anticipated film " Thugs of Hindostan " had its release a day after Diwali but it got the worst reviews of the year. As per reports in Box-Office India, it has managed to garner only Rs 28 cr (approx) on its second day at the ticket windows.

Martinez served primarily as Boston's DH in 2018. At least he is cleaning up elsewhere, winning the Hank Aaron Award last month as the AL's best offensive performer. He earned his sixth All-Star appearance (fourth start) and finished third in the AL in batting average and sixth in on-base percentage.

Martinez started 93 games at designated hitter and 57 in the outfield.

Abreu hit.265 with 22 homers, 78 RBIs, 36 doubles and a.798 OPS. With several more seasons of team control, it seems more and more every day like the Red Sox truly have a bargain on their hands with J.D. Martinez. He hit.330/.402/.629 with 43 home runs, 130 RBI, 111 runs scored, and even stole six bases. It's also worth noting that the Silver Slugger does not differentiate between outfield positions. Betts and Evans are the only players ever to win multiple Silver Slugger Awards and multiple Gold Glove Awards in a Red Sox career.
