Pregnant Amy Schumer hospitalized with hyperemesis, cancels Texas show

But in a cruel twist of fate, Schumer turns out to be following more closely in the footsteps of Markle's sister-in-law Kate Middleton, who also famously suffered from hyperemesis, or, more specifically, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG).

The pregnant comedian, who is in her second trimester, posted a photo from her hospital bed while informing fans that she has been forced to cancel her Texas gig.

Schumer postponed her shows set for tonight at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas and Friday at the Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin but vowed "to be out there as soon as I'm better". I have to reschedule. However, thankfully both Amy and her baby are doing just fine and are in healthy conditions.

But then, a few days after, she was over the moon to see her baby kick on sonogram.

Schumer announced her pregnancy in October, via her friend Jessica Yellin's Instagram account.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, hyperemesis is "extreme, persistent nausea and vomiting during pregnancy" and can lead to dehydration, which may explain the hospital stay to make sure she's keeping down fluids and nutrients.
