Google Play has announced its Best Apps of 2018, a list that includes a good number of games released on the mobile platform this year. Google initiated an investigation following the report and has removed CM File Manager (cache) and Kika Keyboard (cache). The apps would apparently detect new app installations on a user's device and claim the credit for driving said installations. CM File Manager and Kika Keyboard together have over 250 million downloads on the Play Store, which indicates that the revenue pocketed illegally by the two apps must be huge.

This was the first year Google gave users the chance to vote for their favorite game, app, and movie of the year.
