Lyca Productions: ‘2.0’ grosses 500 cr at the box office!

Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's sci-fi film 2.0 has bagged over Rs 500 crore at the worldwide box office if all three languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu - are taken into account.

The film earned Rs 20.25 crores on the opening day and crossed the coveted Rs 100-crore mark on Monday, after its mammoth collections over the weekend. The Hindi version of the film had a six-day total of a whopping Rs 122.50 crore on Tuesday. "#2Point0 continues its stride as a mega blockbuster, collects 500cr worldwide!" The project is backed by the strong technical contributions of music director A.R. Rahman, production designer T. Muthuraj, cinematographer Nirav Shah, VFX Supervisor Sreenivasan and editor Antony among others. The movie casts Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajohn, and K. Ganesh. Interestingly, the maker are also planning to release the film in China in more than 10,000 theaters in May 2019.

As in this case, the launch itself had been successful; that time, though, a lack of fuel resulted in a botched landing. Koenigsmann said the flight termination system is turned off when the booster no longer poses a threat to the public.

Sharing the news, Karan Johar, who presented the Hindi version of 2.0, wrote on Twitter, "A box office PHENOMENA!" The actor has already scored a box office hattrick with Gold and Pad Man. Though there is a significant dip in the collection, the film is still pulling in a lot of crowd to theatres.
