The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have praised the sacrifices made by servicemen and women who will be serving over Christmas.

"But on behalf of everyone back home, we would like to say thank you", William said.

William and Kate were delivering cards and gifts from back home after they hosted a party at Kensington Palace yesterday for children and partners of some of those based in Cyprus.

But the Duchess of Cambridge looked chic in the flattering pants as she met personnel at the military base.

And on Tuesday night Kate put on a glamorous display as she attended the annual white tie Diplomatic Corps reception at Buckingham Palace with William.

The couple are flying to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus on Wednesday where some of the loved ones of the families they met are based, and will take with them a collection of early Christmas presents for the RAF personnel, some of which are based at RAF Marham, near King's Lynn in Norfolk.

About 11,000 military personnel from all three services will be deployed on operations over Christmas.

While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose to sit this holiday party out, we're confident that Duchess Kate can control the royal style reins just fine, crop top and all.
