Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg Will Host the 2019 Golden Globes

This announcement comes just one day before the nominees for next year's Globes will be announced, with both Samberg and Oh likely contenders for their work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Killing Eve, respectively. The three-hour live telecast will air Sunday, Jan. 6, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT from Beverly Hills.

"Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg were unexpectedly fun together presenting at the Emmys and now I am even more excited for the #GoldenGlobes", another person said.

Oh is best known for her role in the long-running television hospital drama Grey's Anatomy and is now starring in BBC America's acclaimed Killing Eve.

Samberg is a two-time Golden Globe Award victor for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Oh won a Golden Globe in 2006 for her performance on Grey's Anatomy.

"Sandra and Andy are the flawless choices to host this world-class event", Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen, NBC Entertainment, said in a statement.

ABC News reported that a total of seven people were thought to be on the two aircraft. Two aviators were on the F/A-18 Hornet, while five Marines were on the KC-130.

"Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg hosting the Golden Globes ugh we love an excellent decision!", someone else tweeted. And in 2015, Samberg hosted the Emmy awards to generally positive reviews.

The Golden Globe awards ceremony will be held on January 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
