Burnley vs. Liverpool - Football Match Report

Liverpool will look to keep pace with Man City atop the Premier League standings on Wednesday, facing Burnley.

The Reds were 3-1 winners against Burnley at Turf Moor in mid-week after goals from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri overturned a 1-0 deficit in the second half.

Klopp was unhappy with the ferocity of the challenges from Burnley's players throughout the game and made his feelings clear to the officials.

But in the second half it was Burnley who scored from a scrappy corner when an unsighted Alisson could only palm the ball away for Jack Cork to tap in.

"We don't know (how bad) at the moment, we sent him home so we have to see, but it's his ankle yes".

"Joe's injured and probably not only a little bit", said Klopp after his side's victory. But their class showed with Milner's terrific finish and a well-worked free-kick narrowing the gap to City back to just two points.

As expected with so many changes, Liverpool's attacking rhythm wasn't quite there in the opening 45 minutes; Naby Keita was perhaps the only player to shine for Klopp's side.

United States charges four in 'Panama Papers' tax evasion scheme
Last week, the Frankfurt headquarters of Deutsche Bank was raided by prosecutors in a money laundering investigation. The charges against the four carry varying sentences.

"The Reds unsung hero James Milner will play his 500th Premier League game at the Vitality Stadium and it was no surprise to me that it was Milner who was the catalyst for Liverpool's dramatic comeback against the Clarets in midweek". You've got to win the ball, you've got to challenge against these boys.

"The first three or four challenges everybody likes it".

Key to their form is Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson, with the England worldwide Wilson scoring eight goals, while Scottish playmaker Fraser has found the net four times and provided seven assists.

Klopp added: "They wanted to be aggressive". It was no foul but you have to be careful if you're going in at full speed. Aggression is a part of football.

"There were a lot of situations, challenges". Somebody has to tell you to stop doing it, make two more steps and make a normal challenge.

Joe Gomez starts at right-back in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold, with Alberto Moreno and Joel Matip also getting rare starts in defence for Liverpool.

"The one at the death is an ugly goal just because we think it's gone out of play and our players are busy reacting to that - we didn't get a lot I don't think, on the maybes, from the referee, but that aside, it was a good, solid performance".
