TheWrap's Jon Levine shared a clip of the moment Lemon's program abruptly went to break due to the threat.

"The NYPD is investigating a bomb threat near CNN NYC's office at Columbus Circle", he said.

The threat came Thursday night when a caller indicated there were five devices in the building, according to a law enforcement source.

Reacting to the threat, CNN's Chris Cuomo said that everyone was "fine" despite the evacuation.

Members of the NYPD's Emergency Services Unit swept the building and gave the all-clear shortly after midnight, reopening it for occupation.

Amazon claimed a " full investigation is already underway ", thanking emergency personnel who responded to the scene. As a precaution , some employees were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment .

'We were told to evacuate the building and to do it as soon as possible. But police later said there was no evidence of any explosives inside the building, the station reported.

Security officers evacuated the building as a precaution and called police.

The threat comes less than an hour after President Donald Trump tweeted about "fake news", a phrase which he has often labelled CNN with.

Chris Cuomo also tweeted about the incident, but said employees expected to be allowed back into the building 'ASAP'. Earlier in the night, Trump had lambasted the "fake news media" on Twitter as well, falsely claiming that reporters don't mention the Republican midterm gains in the Senate.
