Eovaldi re-signing with Red Sox

After rumors swirled of talks intensifying and solidifying between the Red Sox and free agent starter Nathan Eovaldi, the deal was finally agreed upon Thursday morning pending his physical.

That appears to be the case, judging by Price's gleeful reaction to reports saying Eovaldi had re-signed with the Red Sox on a four-year contract worth almost $70 million.

According to multiple reports, the starting pitcher has reached a four-year deal with the Red Sox, two months after helping the franchise clinch their ninth World Series title. "We kept talking to him and he was like, 'I'm good, I'm good, I'm good.' You nearly have to be ideal in that situation, and actually, he was flawless".

The flamethrowing righty was particularly impressive with the Red Sox, for whom he pitched to a 3.33 ERA in 54 innings to close out the season before dazzling with a 1.61 ERA in 22 1/3 postseason frames.

It's believed that the Houston Astros and Yankees are among those also aggressively pursuing Eovaldi.
