Tyler Perry's $430,000 Random Act of Kindness Will Warm Your Heart

The actor and filmmaker, one of the highest-paid men in entertainment, played Santa and paid off nearly 1,500 people's bills for their layaways at two Walmarts in Georgia, E!

Perry spent about $434,000 on the holiday surprise, but there is a catch: His gift is only for items put on layaway at those stores before 9:30 a.m. December 6.

Perry shared a video on Twitter announcing that he paid off all the layaways at two Walmart stores on Thursday. "The heartfelt excitement and joy we're seeing from our customers as a result of his holiday gift has been touching".

A Walmart manager at the Douglasville location told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that while she'd seen good samaritans pay off the occasional account, she'd never seen anyone pay off the entire department in one go.

All the customers have to do to collect their outstanding items is pay a penny at pickup.as Tyler just explained in a video about the awesome gesture.

"God Bless, go get your stuff, Merry Christmas", Perry said.

"I know it's hard times, a lot of people are struggling", Perry said. Tyler Perry just reminded everyone of the true meaning of the season. "THANK YOU! #SparkKindness", a representative for Walmart tweeted. Shortly after TMZ reported that the director and actor had written big checks to two stores in the Atlanta area, Perry confirmed the news on Twitter.

Benson is the sole owner of the Saints.
