Chicago is averaging 103.4 points - 28th in the National Basketball Association - and is getting outscored by 9.6 per game.

Darren Collison had 23 points and eight rebounds, Bojan Bogdanovic scored 14 points and Tyreke Evans finished with 10 for Indiana.

Hoiberg, who had to deal with a veteran roster that didn't fit his style early on and then injuries to key players starting in training camp, never found his footing in Chicago. Domantis Sabonis added nine points and 11 rebounds off the bench for the Pacers.

Following the firing of Fred Hoiberg after 24 games in which 19 of them were losses, Jim Boylen took over the reigns of the Bulls as they faced the Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. IN held the slight advantage early, jumping ahead by as many as nine points during the first half.

The Pacers closed out the third quarter on a 9-4 run for a 70-67 lead.

The Chicago Bulls will be getting reinforcements soon from the injured reserve, as both forward Bobby Portis and guard Kris Dunn participated in full practice and continue recovering from knee injuries. The Bulls weren't able to get any closer than three points during the final 1:45. Hoiberg had a 115-155 mark with one playoff appearance in three-plus seasons.

Afghan ‘Little Messi’ forced to flee
This led to Messi himself arranging to meet up with the youngster and handing him a real Argentina shirt with his name on it. Murtaza's older brother who made the plastic jersey, insists the family is still not safe in their new base in Kabul.

"I was excited about keeping the guys I had, but I was going to shuffle some roles, shuffle some responsibilities and assignments that I thought was best for the team", Boylen explained. "I'm disappointed Randy has made this decision, but I understand he has to do what is best for him", said Boylen.

Justise Winslow scored 14 for Miami, which had won two straight-and still hasn't had a three-game winning streak this season. Damian Lillard weighed in with 33 points for Portland, who fell to 13-11 after the loss. The Bulls are 1-6 against Central Division foes.

Victor Oladipo will be inactive for the eighth consecutive game for the Pacers.

Because of the combination of a young, inexperienced roster (the team is the fifth youngest in the league), coaching turmoil, and injuries, the Bulls now hold the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 5-20. The Pacers were allowing a league-low 102.7 points per game entering Tuesday night's contest. Dean Cooper, a Boylen colleague from Houston who was with the Windy City Bulls also was added to the staff. Boylen said he asked Brown to remain in a new role, but Brown declined.
