Tevez: Moving Copa Libertadores final 'embarrassing for the people'

Of the thousands of Argentinean fans in Madrid for the final, there are several hundred supporters of both clubs that Spanish police consider to be risky, and, as such, extra security measures and a large police contingent will be deployed at the Santiago Bernabeu for the game.

Boca Juniors fans have arrived in Madrid ahead of the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final against River Plate on Sunday.

Dubbed by media as the biggest fixture in the 127-year history of Argentine football, the nations two biggest club's were pitted together to renew their fierce rivalry within the South American equivalent of the Champions League.

The appeal came after River fans attacked the Boca team bus ahead of the first attempt to play the match on November 24, resulting in injuries to the away side's players.

"I think it is embarrassing for the people, not so much for the players", the former Manchester United and Manchester City striker told the BBC World Service.

"It is important because it is still a final", Tevez continued.

"It is rare because of where it is going to be played, but it is still a Copa Libertadores final".

The club then took the case to Cas, also asking it to consider "an urgent request for provisional measure" to suspend Sunday's game.
