Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Wife of 25 Years Announce Divorce

Jeff Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie, are ending their 25-year marriage, the Amazon CEO announced on Twitter Wednesday.

The couple made a decision to divorce after a long period of "loving exploration" and trial separation, and expect to continue as partners in joint ventures and projects, according to the statement.

The Bezos Wednesday in 1993 a year after meeting at a NY hedge fund company MacKenzie Tuttle, now 48, worked at as a research assistant, The Washington Post reported.

Jeff and MacKenzie have four children together - three sons and a daughter adopted from China.

Bezos now has a net worth around $137 billion dollars, the highest figure ever recorded.

The two had been married for 25 years.

The move proved to be too much of a gamble as Liverpool struggled throughout the game, with Origi scoring with their only shot on target.

Speaking at an event in Berlin last April, Jeff Bezos said MacKenzie's support was instrumental when he founded Amazon as an online bookseller in 1994, and that she did the accounting for the company in its first year.

In the joint statement, the couple said they looked forward to continuing working together as "parents, friends, partners in ventures and projects, and as individuals pursuing ventures and adventures". It's important to note that there was reportedly no prenuptial agreement.

"My office was next door to his, and all day long I listened to that fabulous laugh", she told the magazine.

Within three months, they were engaged and, three months later in 1993, they were hitched.

MacKenzie Bezos has been a staunch defender of Jeff Bezos and Amazon, writing a 1-star review in response to a 2013 book that was critical of the company. "We remain a family, and we remain cherished friends".
