The San Antonio Spurs are one team believed to have "significant interest" in Kritaps Porzingis, according to The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor. However, sources told the Daily News' Stefan Bondy that NY is considering guaranteeing only a portion of that number due to Porzingis' injury history.

"Negotiating an incentive-based deal with Porzingis could risk alienating him".

The Nets are another team to watch when it comes to Porzingis.

The Knicks could face some stiff competition to sign Kristaps Porzingis this summer when their star big man becomes a restricted free agent. In any case, signing a max offer sheet would make him an unrestricted free agent in 2023 (or in 2022 if it included a player option). The Knicks will hold on to Porzingis so long as they offer him a max contract or match one offered by another team.

Taliban Cancels Peace Talks with US over Potential Involvement of Afghanistan
It keeps around 14,000 troops there as part of a NATO-led mission aiding Afghan security forces and hunting militants. "Both sides have agreed to not meet in Qatar ", senior Taliban members based in Afghanistan told Reuters .

Porzingis, who is still recovering from a torn ACL, has yet to make his season debut during the 2018-2019 season. He could miss the entire year.

In 48 games last season, the 7'3 center earned All-Star honors for the first time while averaging a career-high 22.7 points along with 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. However, the Spurs - with DeMar DeRozan set for almost $28 million next season, LaMarcus Aldridge with $26 million, Pau Gasol due $16 million and Patty Mills $12.4 million - would have a tough time creating enough cap space to land the Latvian.

Knicks general manager Scott Perry would not answer a question directly in October about whether Porzingis was happy with his contract talks.
