BMW 7 Series spied revealing meaner face

The sixth generation, codenamed G11/G12, of the flagship sedan launched in 2015 and is due for a mid-cycle refresh. It shows a BMW 7-Series facelift with a very large kidney grille, similar to the controversial design found on the new BMW X7.

The taillights have also been restyled to more closely resemble those on the all-new 3 Series, though they are connected with an LED bar.

A photo showing what looks to be the front grille of the anticipated BMW 7-Series facelift has been leaked through Instagram. The headlamps are no sleeker and boast the company's Laserlight technology. Go for the range-topping M760i and some of the design accents will come with a gold / copper finish, including the aforementioned hockey stick, the V12 badge on the rear pillar, the corporate grille, side mirrors, and even the wheels.

The updated luxury saloon's new nostrils are accompanied by sharper exterior styling that includes slimmer headlights and tail-lights. But it's also been on sale for a few years, which means it's time for an update-after all, staying fresh is especially critical to closing the sales gap between itself and the Mercedes-Benz S-class. Specifications of the petrol and the diesel trims are also under a wrap, but the present plug-in hybrid variant will make way for a new version that will be called '745e iPerformance'. In the global market, BMW will reportedly offer a new 745e iPerformance plug-in hybrid version. As always, the BMW 7 Series will only be offered in India in the Li variant or the long wheelbase option and will be well over the Rs 1 Crore mark.
