The first thing we noticed about these renders is that Nokia is following in the vein of other recent devices and using a pinhole for the forward-facing camera to allow for a almost bezel-less display on its next smartphone.

The Android Pie update to Nokia 8 Sirocco brings App Actions feature that displays the most relevant apps and in-app features for quicker navigation. This has been popularized by Samsung's Infinity-O display, which is basically just a circular hole in the upper corner of the display so the front-facing camera (and other sensors) can be positioned.

Specifications for the Nokia 8.1 Plus are anyone's guess, but some details that have been confirmed include a 6.22-inch screen, USB-C port for charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, the new Nokia 8.1 was first released in China as the Nokia X7 before making its global debut last month. The main difference is that the phone shown in the leaked video and images has a punch-hole display and the rear camera setup also looks slightly different. Leaked marketing materials showed that the company would be re-branding this specific device with a new name and using it for the Android One program.

The renders have been provided by 91Mobiles in collaboration with OnLeaks.
