He went 23-25 in three seasons.

Adam Gase, welcome to NY. Miami fired him following the end of the 2018 regular season.

Legendary quarterback Peyton Manning called Jets CEO Christopher Johnson on Tuesday night to recommend Gase for the team's head-coaching opening. Bringing in a once failed head coach should mean that ice is that much thinner, and the only lifeline for Maccagnan will be immediate success for Gase which he did experience in Miami when he went 10-6 in year one.

Dolphins Offensive Coordinator Dowell Loggains is expected to follow Gase to NY as his second-in-command barring any contractual snags, Rapoport reported. And it's the reason they hired Adam Gase on Wednesday to replace Todd Bowles. The team has a young, promising quarterback in Sam Darnold, almost $100 million available to spend in free agency and the third overall pick in April's draft.

Mike McCarthy and Matt Rhule were also candidates.

The Packers fired McCarthy after a surprising home loss to the Arizona Cardinals on December 2, ending a 13-year run in Green Bay. It was not clear if Rhule was offered the job. He finished his time in Green Bay with a 125-77-2 record and led it to a Super Bowl win in 2011.

Kingsbury was hired Tuesday as the Arizona Cardinals' head coach.

In a move that's coming to the surprise of many, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport says Gang Green is hiring former Dolphins skipper Adam Gase as their new head coach.
