Apple plans to launch three new iPhone models this year

Apple last week cut its fourth...

Apple will release three new iPhones in 2019 to succeed the current iPhone XS Max, XS and XR, and the highest-end model will indeed have three cameras, while the other two will feature dual cameras, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

This sounds familiar, but the newest features may come in the phones' cameras. The leaked render of the iPhone XI showed a square bump-like structure at the back of the iPhone on which a triple-rear camera setup sat with a flash at the back. Many Android handsets, including Google's Pixel 3 XL, combine hardware and software to produce some of the best photos we've seen from any smartphone.

This means Apple will maintain its two-OLED, one-LCD model lineup for the 2019 iPhone as well, despite rumours that the company could give up on LCD for this year's generation.

Interestingly, the Wall Street Journal says that product planning for Apple's 2019 iPhones is already past the point where major features can be changed.

Unfortunately, there's still no word on whether Apple will be lowering their iPhone prices this year-which would probably help boost sales more than camera improvements would.

In 2016, Volkswagen pleaded guilty to criminal charges and agreed to pay a $2.8 billion penalty to settle government lawsuits. The settlement is not expected to outline any criminal charges, according to ABC News .

Looking ahead to 2020, Apple apparently might ditch LCD altogether.

Offering what sound like iterative updates in 2019 could prove to be a controversial decision on Apple's part.

"Since we began shipping the iPhone XR", Cook said, "it has been the most popular iPhone every day, every single day, from-when we started shipping, until now".

Apple's iPhones have failed to excite Chinese consumers due to their lofty price tags and stiff competition from the likes of Huawei Technologies Co.

The report adds that the cheapest model will stick with an LCD screen, while the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max will of course use OLED, just like the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. It's possible that Haptic Touch will extend to all iPhone models if Apple gets rid of 3D Touch entirely.
