Thus far, devices shipping with the Google Assistant have been feature-packed and capable of linking into a multi-room audio system using the Chromecast protocol - hopefully that makes the jump to the Sonos family of devices.

Among other upgrades that were announced, Google said that its Assistant would now be able to check into flight as well as book hotels.

"Whether it's reading texts aloud, playing music or finding an alternate route, it's more convenient to let the Google Assistant handle the task at hand, especially when driving".

Unfortunately, Sonos isn't yet committing to a date for its Google Assistant roll-out. So, slap on your VR headset and take a ride. Google Announces E Ink Screen, New Assistance Features, Interpreter Mode at Trade Show.

Samsung will add support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa but you need an external device such as an Amazon Echo og Google Home. Additionally, Google Assistant will also alert if your flight is ready for Web check-in.

Verizon's HumX, their connected vehicle solution that keeps track of auto diagnostics, location, gas mileage, and more, is getting Google Assistant, the company announced at CES 2019.

The Lenovo Smart Clock has a four-inch touchscreen and users can see alarm suggestions based on your daily routines and control other smart home devices, Google said. As they don't have microphones to pick up voice commands, though, you'll nearly certainly need a microphone-toting middle-man device (such as a smartphone or Google Assistant smart speaker) to control it. The Assistant will provide real-time spoken translations, and written ones as well on smart displays.

In a test with United for domestic flights, Google Assistant will soon be able to check US -based travelers for their flights. The company will offer more information on the platform later this year. Google also promises to bring support for Google Keep, Any.do, Bring! and Todoist.

The use of digital voice assistants like Alexa from Amazon, Google Home and Apple Homepod is booming, according to a recent study by Accenture.

As for the companys Bixby voice assistant it is also limited to a few countries and languages.
