Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Overnight Friday Snow

The advisory goes into effect beginning at 6 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday for Atchison, Doniphan, Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas and Andrew, Atchison, Bates, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, De Kalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Henry, Holt, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte, Ray and Worth counties in Missouri. Winter Storm Watches and Warnings stretch well to our west and this storm will likely make for tricky travel conditions.

Weather service forecasters say the Chicago area can expect between 1 and 3 inches of snow late Friday and into Saturday. Five to seven inches of snow is anticipated.

Today rain could start anytime with a small potential of patchy freezing drizzle early in the morning but most of the precipitation type today will be rain. AccuWeather.com predicts 6 to 12 inches of snow in those areas.

The calls came a day after state's attorney Kim Foxx made a plea to any alleged victim of the singer to come forward. The case was presented to a Magistrate Judge who issued a warrant in July, citing "terroristic threats and acts".

As of Thursday afternoon, the weather service's forecast specifically for Lawrence predicted a rainy Friday. Roads will be hazardous Saturday morning and early afternoon so give yourself plenty of time to get to KC.

If you're going to be traveling away from Central Indiana for the weekend, perhaps to see the Colts plays in Kansas City, you will want to plan to leave by early tomorrow morning. Highs will be in the upper 30s-low 40s.

"2-3" should fall north with 3-5" over a good chunk of the area & 5-7" in the far southwest & south on the edge of the Winter Storm Watch area. Wind chills will be held to the teens and 20s all day.
