Veteran defender Naldo was the first to join from German club Schalke 04, and on Thursday Monaco announced the signing of France under-21 left-back Fode Ballo-Toure from Lille for 11 million euros plus bonuses.

During his time with Arsenal, Fabregas won one FA Cup.

'Michy? I know him, we rubbed shoulders with Belgium, he is a player who can be interesting, ' Henry said.

The 31-year-old had been out of favour at Stamford Bridge this season and, with his contract expiring in June, has departed for the French top flight on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Fabregas will be required to make an immediate impact for Henry's men, who now languish second from bottom of the Ligue 1 table and face the threat of relegation.

However, his deal to the Ligue 1 side will see him re-unite with his former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry, who is in charge of the club.

Sarri tells Chelsea hierarchy to sign two players
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri feels his side need to sign new two players during the January transfer market. Willian was on Thursday linked with Barcelona but Sarri said: "Willian for us is really very important".

Cesc Fabregas has ended his four and a half years stint with Chelsea.

Fabregas has enjoyed plenty of success at worldwide level too, winning the World Cup and two European championships with the Spain.

"This is obviously a very good technical reinforcement for the team but we are convinced that his experience at the highest level will bring a lot to our players on and off the field".

The Premier League club are understood to be interested in deals for Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella and Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes. Pretty much everything Sarri asks from his deep-lying midfielder.

The Spanish midfielder has completed his move to Monaco.
