Police in Layton, Utah, say a 17-year-old girl was driving blindfolded when she lost control and crashed into another auto.

On Monday afternoon, the unnamed teen drove on the highway with her beanie hat pulled over her eyes.

"Luckily no injuries", police wrote.

Police said that the teen initially told authorities that the crash occurred because she was talking to her friend and gotten distracted, KSL reported.

The "Bird Box" challenge, which has gone viral on social media, is inspired by the Netflix movie "Bird Box", starring Sandra Bullock.

Apple plans to launch new health services in 2019
Cook said Apple has been working on several products and services for years that it "feel [s] really great about". Recently, the company added ECG feature to its Apple Watch Series 4 , paving way for preventive heart care.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the crash just north of Salt Lake City in Utah, US.

The challenge has seen people being filmed doing a variety of every day things blindfolded, including walking into walls and down streets.

The challenge "really hasn't been that risky, but inevitably somebody's going to do the monumentally stupid thing that is driving while blindfolded", a Colorado State Patrol officer said in a video message.

"Apparently, as a part of this 'Bird Box Challenge, ' (the driver) used her beanie to pull over her eyes as she was driving on Layton Parkway, and she ended up losing control of her vehicle and skidded into the westbound lanes of Layton Parkway and hit another auto and ended up hitting a light pole as well".

In the viral challenge, participants attempt to do ordinary things while blindfolded, which, again, is unsafe for obvious reasons.
