With the blanket support of the current U.S. administration, including endorsement of Israel's egregious violations and total disdain for worldwide law and the global consensus, Israel is successfully destroying the territorial contiguity and territorial integrity the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) to enhance its colonial settlement enterprise and facilitate the creation of Bantustans throughout occupied Palestine.

Global law views the entire West Bank as "occupied territory" and considers all Israeli settlement building there to be illegal.

Two weeks ago, the western side opened in front of the Palestinian residents area, which will prevent them from entering Jerusalem.

In 2002, Israel began building a security barrier separating Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank in an bid to bolster security following the Second Intifada; Palestinians dubbed the undertaking the "apartheid road" and have repeatedly called for it to be taken down. It had remained closed, however, due to a long-running dispute between the Israeli army and police over who should man checkpoints along the highway.

The road's opening prompted condemnation from the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

A two-lane road built on a stolen land opens in occupied Jerusalem.

The road is a key infrastructural part of implementing Israel's "Greater Jerusalem" or "E1" plan, which seeks the de facto annexation of the three settlement blocs adjacent to Jerusalem city - Gush Etzion to the South, Ma'ale Adumim/E-1 to the east and Givat Ze'ev to the north.

He warned that this road plan could lead to the expulsion of Khan Al-Ahmar village and more than 21 other Palestinian communities.

About 600,000 Israelis live in over 230 settlements built illegally since the 1967 occupation of the Palestinian territories.
