Here’s how The Accidental Prime Minister and Uri opened at the box-office

Uri: The Surgical Strike featuring actor Vicky Kaushal is winning hearts.

This week two much-anticipated films made to the theatres "The Accidental Prime Minister and URI: The Surgical Strike". But since yesterday, the kind of reaction we have received is really overwhelming. Vicky plays Major Vihan Shergill in the film which talks about's India's revenge after several jawans were killed during the Uri attack. The actor, who was seen in films like "Raazi", "Sanju" and "Manmarziyaan" a year ago, will soon be gearing up for Karan Johar's "Takht", which will also feature Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. "It's a surreal feeling that audience has accepted our film with open arms", he told media. Good word of mouth will work in the film's favour. Filmmaker Karan Johar watched the movie and was in awe of both Kaushal and director Aditya Dhar.

Uri has been released along with Anupam Kher starrer The Accidental Prime Minister which will disperse their audience. According to trade aggregator Box Office India, the film increased its Rs 8.25 crore earning on Friday to Rs 11.75 crore on Saturday, showing a 40% increase. The film is written and directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the production banner of RSVP Movies.
