On Friday, HBO teased the arrival of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, revealing that the season's trailer would arrive just ahead of Sunday's (January 13th) showing of True Detective.

In the teaser, Jon, Arya and Sansa Stark finally come together as a trio at Winterfell in a sequence that appears to predict their own deaths.

This eighth season is only six episodes long, which means the finale should be on May 19 if HBO doesn't skip any Sundays. The crypt teaser begins with heavy overtures of Jon's true Targaryen parentage as he walks past Lyanna Stark's crypt. Game of Thrones is collaborating with Adidas, the company of the three stripes.

From season 7, we know the truth about Jon Snow's parents, which makes him a Targaryen, even though he doesn't yet know.

Pytel described Corona as a "rising star" in the department, and said that others thought of her as a sister and daughter. Corona started at the Davis Police Department as a part-time employee in 2016, when she was a junior college student.

It's confirmed that the final season will premiere in 13 weeks' time with the promise of a chilling reunion between Jon Snow and Arya Stark.

The release of the teaser coincides with confirmation of April 14 as the date for the final season of the hugely popular show.

HBO kicked off the year with calculated Game of Thrones hype, starting with a four-second clip snuck into an ad during the Golden Globes. It's not footage from within the final season but more like an original promotional ad. The service had previously said only that the show will return in April.
